Taking a small break

So we’ve been hit hard with the infamous 4months sleep regression. My baby was a great sleeper until few weeks ago. All over sudden he started to wake up every 2.5 – 3 hours, and also his 3 hours afternoon nap has almost fully dissapeared 😑 So as you can imagine with the lack of sleep, I’m slowly, but for sure turning into a zombie…. My brain capacity has shrank significantly and my motivation to do anything is basically non existing…. And the cold rainy weather doesn’t help either.

Anyways, for the above mention reason, I’ve been taking a break from almost anything that requires any form of focus.

My hackle is still not finished and the Thomas the tank engine hat, I’ve been making for my son, is progressing veeeery sloooooowly….

Also you might have noticed I haven’t been very busy on the blogging front either.

But there is 1 thing I had been forced to do. My son goes to a Waldorf independent pre-school, so the teachers expect us, parents, to make a gift for our kids for the upcoming Saint Nicolas holiday (5th of December), which is a big deal here in the Netherlands. We’ve been asked to make a felt crown, wrap them up and bring it to school before the 1st of december, so they can hand them out to the kids the following week.

I know my boy is not really into hats and crowns and stuff like that, so I started with a very simple design. But the more I worked on it, the more ideas I got and in the end, I ended up making the least Waldorf like crown in history of the school…

Did I already mention my boy is obsessed with trains from Thomas the tank engine series???

But at least now there is a slight chance he will be willing to wear it for few minutes 😁

Well that’s all the updates I have for now. I know it’s not much, but I’ m hoping to catch up on stuff in few weeks, when we go for Christmas break to visit my parents in Slovakia….

  1. That four month growth spurt is so hard! My baby is 22, and I still remember thinking I was never going to get through it. Hang in and nap every possible chance! The “crown” is AMAZING! Your heart needed some creative time. It will transition nicely to his wall if he doesn’t wear it, too nice to leave in a toy box!
