Short circular needles – how could I live without them?

So knitting my first pair of socks was not progressing very quickly. I managed to work on it here and there throughout the week, but the baby was really fussy the last few days and he just wanted to be held most of the time, so I didn’t have as much time to knit as I would have liked…

Well it all changed yesterday evening. On wednesday, I have switched from DPNs back to that short circular needle I bought specially for this project and with which I’m still not very comfortable knitting, but im trying to get used to it.

Anyways, yesterday, I was sitting on sofa for most of the afternoon, holding the baby, nothing interesting was on TV and I was getting bored… My knitting was in my arms reach, and I was thinking: ‘with that short needle it would be impossible to poke the baby, if I did some knitting with him in my arms….’ So I grabbed the socks and I tried to knit couple of rows, to see if I could do it….

And guess what? Not only it was possible, but the baby fell asleep within few minutes. It must have been the rocking like movement I made while knitting….

So to make the long story short:

One sock’s finished (just need to make sure it’s long enough and close it off) and 2’nd one is coming along very nicely. 😀
